About CDS 2025
The dates for the 2025 Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam are released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on upsc.gov.in, their official website.
The application form is made available from December 11 to December 31, 2024, and the notification for CDS 1 2025 become published on December 11, 2024.
The date of the CDS 1 exam is April 13, 2025. Likewise, on May 28, 2025, the CDS 2 2025 notification is made public. Applications are accepted from May 28 to June 17, 2025, and the test will take place on September 14, 2025.

CDS Notification 2025 :
The notification will be issued in PDF format. It will include key information such as important dates, the application process, exam structure, syllabus, and eligibility requirements. Candidates need to read the notification carefully before submitting their applications.
How to Apply ?
- Candidates must apply online through the UPSC website (upsconline.nic.in).
- One-Time Registration (OTR): Candidates must complete OTR before applying. This is a one-time process that can be done anytime. If candidates already registered, they can proceed directly with the application.
Step-by-Step :
- Register on the OTR platform on the UPSC website if not already done.
- Log in and complete the online application form for the NDA exam.
- Submit the application and pay the necessary fee.
- Make any changes to the OTR profile or application within the given time frames if needed.
Last Date for Submitting Applications :
- Online applications must submitted by January 9, 2024, at 6:00 PM.
- The e-Admit Card will available for download seven days before the exam from the UPSC website; it will not be sent by mail.
Modification in OTR Profile :
- Candidates can update their OTR profile once after registering. Changes must be made within 7 days after the application window closes. The deadline for first-time applicants to modify their OTR is January 16, 2024.
Modification in Application Form :
- Candidates can correct their application form between January 10, 2024, and January 16, 2024. Any changes to the OTR profile should be made directly on the OTR platform, not through the application modification section.
Withdrawal of Application :
- Once submitted, candidates cannot withdraw their applications.
Photo ID Card :
- Candidates need to provide details of one valid photo ID (like Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, Passport, or Driving License) during the application process. A scanned copy of this photo ID must be uploaded. The same photo ID must be shown during the exam and subsequent stages (SSB/Interview).
CDS Eligibility 2025 :
Age Limit :
- IMA & INA: Unmarried male candidates born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2006.
- Air Force Academy: Ages 20 to 24 as of January 1, 2025 (born between January 2, 2001, and January 1, 2005).
- OTA (Men): Unmarried male candidates born between January 2, 2000, and January 1, 2006.
- OTA (Women Non-Technical): Unmarried women born between January 2, 2000, and January 1, 2006.
- Female Age Limit: 19-25 years for OTA.
- OBC Age Limit: Same as general candidates (19-25 years).
Educational Qualification :
- IMA & OTA: Must have a graduation degree from a recognized university.
- INA: Requires an engineering degree from a recognized institution.
- AFA: Must have graduated with Physics and Mathematics in 12th grade or hold an engineering degree.

CDS 2025 Vacancies :
Vacancy information will included in the notification. The previous vacancies for CDS 2 (2024) were 459, while CDS 1 (2024) had 341 vacancies.
CDS Admit Card 2025 :
The admit card will be available online on the official UPSC website. Candidates will need to log in using their application number and date of birth. The admit card will show details like name, roll number, date of birth, photo, signature, and exam center.
CDS Exam Pattern 2025 :
There are two stages: a written exam and an SSB interview. For IMA, INA, and AFA, the exam will include three sections: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. The total duration is 6 hours, with 2 hours for each section, totaling 300 marks. The OTA exam will have a different pattern compared to IMA, INA, and AFA.
